Rating: PG-13 because I'm kinda boring...or something.
Genre: Still magical girl crossover spitefic!
Notes/Warnings: Still don't own anyone. Italics galore. Enjoy~
Summary: Introducing the new girls around can be very fun, until distractions show up to end the party. What's a magical girl to do?

Maybe it was the excitement of meeting the new kids, or getting to know her new classmate, or both, but Serena somehow managed to stay awake through her morning classes. Of course, trying to take notes usually ended up with her just eventually scratching drawings on her papers, but she could at least look like she was working.

From across the aisle, in the seat behind Molly's empty desk, Serena noticed Tori watching her from time to time. Two pieces of paper were in front of her, nearly full of neat handwriting. Was she making copies of her notes again? Maybe they could start a collection for Molly, so she could catch up on her work.

After a while, Serena found herself watching the clock and thinking of her lunch. Class always seemed to drag on for so long when she was hungry! Wonder if Lydia has anyone to sit with at lunch, she thought. Maybe I could make a space for her? It can't be easy being new and not knowing anyone.

By the time the bell rang, signaling the end of class, the paper that was supposed to be full of notes had several drawings on it and no actual notes. Oh well. Serena shoved the paper into her bag and picked up her lunch bag, following the other students outside. Maybe she would try again later, after lunch. In the meantime, though, she had new people to talk to!

"So on nice days, we eat outside?" Lydia asked, walking beside Serena as they tried to find a good place to sit. "I think I could get used to this. It's much better to be outside for a little while, instead of inside all day."

"Did you always eat inside at your old school, Lydia?" Serena asked.

"Well, it was a small school," Lydia replied. "We really just stayed in--oh, who's that over there?"

Serena glanced in the direction Lydia was pointing, and noticed someone sitting alone over near the garden. From behind, she almost looked familiar...

Of course, with all the discussion, resident super-nerd Melvin just had to make another appearance. "The other new girl, the one all the rumors are about," he said. "Supposedly, she was kicked out of her old school for fighting, but nobody's brought up proof yet. People are still ready to stay out of her way, though."

"No wonder she's eating alone, then," Lydia said. "Poor lass."

Serena watched the tall girl thoughtfully, then glanced down at her bunny-printed lunch bag. She was the one who bailed me out this morning, after I ran into those bullies. I don't think I even thanked her for that. I should do something about that, I think. "So why don't we go ask to join her? Maybe she'd like some company."

Melvin stared at her as if she'd grown two extra heads. "Are you sure that's a good idea?"

"You said it yourself, there's no proof," Serena answered. "She's not doing anything right now, so I want to at least welcome her. You guys don't have to come if you don't want to."

"Right behind you, Serena," Lydia said, and the pair set off toward their target. Tori trailed behind them, saying nothing. After all, there wasn't anything she could add.

The introductions, as awkward as they were, went well enough. Granted, Serena had seen the girl's lunch and started up a conversation about that, winning a free sample, but sometimes friendships started in bizarre ways.

"I wish I could cook so I could make these myself, Lita," Serena commented around a mouthful of homemade muffin. "I could eat these every day!"

Lita smiled sadly. "I might just give you the rest of my lunch," she said. "After all the rumors today, I just don't really feel all that hungry."

"Amazing how fast rumors can travel and strike fear," Lydia said, poking at her own lunch. "Seems everyone's actually afraid of you."

"If anything, they should give you a chance," Serena added, finally opening her own bag. "Remember this morning? You really saved the day, and my lunch! The ones who should fear you are the ones who are big scary jerks."

"Oh, that was you I met this morning?" Lita asked. "Huh. Glad to know I have at least one person who's not afraid of me."

"You have three," Serena answered, gesturing to her companions. "I'm sure we all think you're nice, right?"

Tori nodded. "It's never easy being new, and I'm sure you'll prove that the rumors are wrong."

Lydia, after a short hesitation, nodded as well. "With some time, things will settle."

"So," Serena began. "Doing anything after school? Maybe we could show you around, or just hang out? I know a really nice arcade..."

(Hey, don't let your own games get in the way! We'll be back soon~)
